Who we are
Hello! My name is Kirsten! I started PuptoK9 Dog Training to share my knowledge and help other pet parents feel more confident in their pups. I have always loved dogs since I was a little girl, and it has only grown since. I had two Alaskan Malamute mix’s growing up that had a lot of reactivity issues. I learned so many skills about how to navigate a reactive dog and fell in love with it. I started working at a doggie daycare when I turned 19. I learned all about dog body language and how dogs communicate.
When I turned 20 I got my soul pup. Duke a German Shepherd puppy. He really started my passion for dog training. I worked so hard on his skills and obedience. I loved the breed so when Duke turned 10 months I got my second German Shepherd Selah. She was spunky and had a completely different personality than Duke. She was stubborn and much harder to train. I had to learn new ways to communicate with her.
Then I got my Chance. He gave me a run for my money. He was so naughty and got the nick name “Bad Baby” he got into everything and his goal was to do everything we didn’t want him too. I again found myself looking for new methods to teach him to behave. He needed much more intense training and dedication. He worked through leash reactivity and has made leaps in his obedience training.
I have learned so much from them and continue to learn new things everyday. I want to help other owners who just aren’t sure how to handle their pups and need the help.
